June Newsletter

It's a wrap! This is the last official month of the CQ year that we are meeting together (virtually that is). The Zoom meeting night is June 21st. The sign in time will be 6:30pm. The official start time will be 7pm. It will be a fun party to wrap up the year. There will be a fun game. We will have a hat theme. Wear a summer hat of your choice to make it seem more festive. We will have a fabulous Show 'n' Tell. The Round Robin quilt tops will be revealed. Please keep sending in your Round Robin photos to Gloria this week. There will also be all the other quilts that our members have been working on as well. You will get an email with the link the day before the Zoom meeting. The Sew, Show 'n' Tell for June will not be posted in this newsletter until after the live Zoom Show 'n' Tell.

All CQ members will receive an email before the end of June asking to reply with a yes or no for membership renewal. Please cc your reply to  Bonnie  as well. That way we will be aware of what next year will shape up to be. We will then pass on the information to the incoming executive members and treasurer.

The executive director of Seniors Come Share has said it looks promising that we will be able to meet together at Come Share in September. This is exciting news!

We are needing to fill the position of programs director. Will it be you? It is fine to share this together with someone else if you do not wish to do it alone. Think of all the possibilities of programs you would like to have. You can shape them into exactly what you want them to be if you take this position! Be sure to check out the link for the Executive Committee to the right to see all of the changes to the executive committee for next year.

Brookswood Update - from Lynne: Meet in the grassy area beside the Brookswood Bldg. on Wednesday June 23 at noon for a few hours.  Bring your own  chairs and lunch if you wish.  You will need to enter the back parking lot from the street behind the building.  This is if we are in Stage 2  which we will know on June 15. See some of you there!

Thank-you to all of the executive committee members who faithfully continued to do their jobs throughout COVID 19. Although some of the positions really didn't exist over the past year, other positions were still busy. A special thanks to Donna for coordinating our Zoom guests this year, and also for all the work she did for our community quilts challenge. Please continue to hand in your completed community quilts to her. Thanks to Iris for taking minutes for some of our Zoom meetings. Thanks to Bea for keeping our finances in order. Thanks to Bonnie for doing our membership list, and keeping the list of people waiting to join our group. Big thanks to Faith for organizing the Round Robin this year!
