Agenda
Susan chaired the meeting. She welcomed everyone. There was a short business meeting. The following
topics were part of the business.
-Masks are not mandated but strongly recommended at Brella.
-Updated guidelines have been emailed. If you would like a printed copy, please let Susan know.
-We need to purchase $5 million of liability insurance. The price of our insurance will be double this
year.
-Elaine reported the bank account balance is $3,798.66. We also have about $150 of petty cash.
-The wait list to get into our group is five people.
-Debbie has membership cards for those who have not got theirs yet.
-New member Terry W. was welcomed into our group. She is a friend of Eileen.
-New member Anette S. was welcomed into our group. She lives across the street from Marette.
-Lynne M. gave a detailed plan of what to do in case of fire at Brookswood. Members of Brookswood
signed that they are aware of the fire plan. This is a requirement that Brookswood has in place. Anyone
who was not attending the meeting will need to read over the fire plan and sign the paper next time
they attend Brookswood.
-Carolyn drew for door prizes. The rule this year is that you must be wearing your name tag in order to
claim your door prize if your number is drawn.
Marette continued with a segment of our ongoing sewing room organization challenge. She showed a
video on the large TV. After the video, Marette asked if people like using this type of media during our
meetings. The show of hands in favor was a strong majority of the attendees.
Iris Z. and Karen B. (Two of our members) gave wonderful trunk shows of their quilts.
Sew, Show ‘n’ Tell: Susan showed a table runner and also a work in progress curved piecing by Phlippa
Naylor. Helen made three shirt protectors to donate to Brella. Carolyn made a roller skate quilt for a
little girl. Elaine B. showed a turkey pillow case made by her sister. She also showed a blue quilt she
made and will donate to Covenant house. She also showed a pansy quilt she made. Shelagh made four
shirt protectors to donate to Brella. Gloria showed her paper pieced Prismatic Star quilt she made. It
was beautifully quilted by Lynne J. Lynne M. and Carole N. showed the beautiful blue and white quilt
they made for their children’s 25th Wedding Anniversary. Carole also showed a Christmas quilt she
made.
