Susan chaired the meeting. She welcomed everyone. The following things were said.

-We have purchased $5 million of liability insurance.

-Lynne is collecting Brookswood fees for next year by cheque or e-transfer to

crescentquilterpayments@gmail.com

Marette spoke about the upcoming Christmas party. Date: Monday December 12th. Place: Karen’s

house. Time: 6pm Bring an appy or a dessert. Cutlery, plate, cup or glass. Punch will be provided by

Karen. There will be an opportunity to give a monetary donation to the food bank at the Christmas

social. There will be an optional gift exchange at the party. If you bring a gift, the value should be

approximately $15.

Marette also said she is still looking for more program ideas for 2023. She has tried to contact some

possible guests but didn’t get a response. She had a sign-up sheet if members are interested in doing a

trunk show or a demonstration on something at a future meeting.

-Debbie has membership cards for those who have not got theirs yet.

-Lynne M. gave a report on changes that will be coming to Brookswood regarding user fees. The rules

will be $4 minimum per person per day, but the minimum per group will be $25 per day. Lynne will be

increasing the daily use fees (most likely to $10 per day) in the New Year. There are expenses that we

cover such as coffee etc. We also had to buy a new iron recently ($60). We are hoping to get upgraded

lighting soon. Surplus funds collected can be designated towards new lighting.

-Donna has already collected a number of Community Quilts this year. She will be donating them to

residential care around December 10th before she goes away on vacation.

After meeting addition: (This was meant to be said at the meeting but was forgotten) Former member

Joan Baldwin donated several quilts to us for Community Quilts. She also said hello to all her friends at

Crescent Q. and said that quilting really helped her with the last two years of lockdown.

Sew, Show ‘n’ Tell:

Helen donated four shirt savers she made.

Carole P. showed a flower fairy quilt she made and a bird quilt.

Wendy showed a scrappy quilt that she made which includes fabric from a duvet cover. She plans to

hang it as a wall hanging in her house.

Jean donated two shirt savers made with very unique fabric.

Debbie showed a table runner that she made.

Gloria showed a small 18” x 22” project she made in a Zoom workshop by Carolina Oneta who lives in

Brazil and taught the workshop from Brazil.

Carola (from Carola’s quilt shop) was the guest who had an interesting trunk show to give people ideas

on making scrappy quilts. She also brought along a pop-up shop. She teaches classes at her shop.

Encouraged us to come by her shop in Chilliwack.

Carolyn drew for door prizes. Helen drew for Sharzees.
