Susan chaired the meeting. She welcomed everyone. She told the story of how her Christmas went. As

an ice breaker she asked other people to share how their Christmas/holiday went. Several people

shared stories.

The following things were said:

-Donna still has labels and batting for community quilts. She will give them to those that request.

-$125 was raised for the food bank at Karen’s Christmas party. It has been given to them.

-There is $3,322 in the bank account. We have $178 petty cash.

-23 people have paid for Brookswood memberships for 2023. The money has been given to

Brookswood.

-Susan would like to plan and executive meeting in February. (Possibly in the first week of February).

Details will be sent out to executive members after she gets back from her vacation.

-Debbie has membership cards for those who have not got theirs yet.

-Marette has planned an interactive evening next month for the February meeting. There will be four

stations for the attendees to circulate through to get tutorials. There will be a few stations on small

projects, and a station on a special technique.

Door prizes and Sharzees were done.

Sew, Show ‘n’ Tell:

Elaine made quilts from her stash. She made two quilts that are blue and yellow with stars. One was a

big quilt. With leftover fabric made a smaller quilt.

Gloria showed a table runner made from Christmas fabric. It contained the squares from the Christmas

party game. She made a smaller one for a side table with the leftover pieces.

Mary Jo showed a quilt that was a kit. Blue and yellow. She also brought along a few sashiko blocks that

she did. She has several more of these blocks at home that she has done and eventually will put them all

together in a quilt.

Wendy showed some quilts that were made by Hutterites. She wants to donate them to someone who

would like to have them.

Iris made 6 shirt protectors to donate to Brella. She also made a community quilt. It is yellow and pink

with some embroidery on it. Iris made two quilts with sewing machines on them. The first had Swiss

sewing machines on it. She won an award for this quilt at a quilt show for best medium sized quilt. The

second one has Singer sewing machines on it. It was quilted by Lynne J.

Gillian talked about another repair cafe coming up.

Karen showed a Fall leaves quilt that she completed. It had appliqued leaves on it. She also showed a

green baby quilt, and a quilt with owls on it.

Carole N. showed a quilt top that had owls on it. It was the same pattern as the quilt Karen made but in

different colors.

Susan Showed her quilt top with triangles. (it was made of light green and cream colors)

Marette showed an improve scrappy placemat that she made. She enjoyed making it and will make a set

of 4 placemats in this style.
