Border Workshop- By Faith


This workshop is intended to provide an active illustration of the difference between using the strip method for sewing borders, and pre-measuring and cutting your border strips to fit your quilt.

You will make two quilt tops and we will be tracking the measurements of the growing quilts as we add each round of borders.

The center square will be cut 12 ½”.

The first three rounds of borders will be 3 ½” wide.

The final round of borders will be 4 ½” wide.

The finished quilt top will be 36” wide, perfect for donating to our charity quilt program.

I have not provided fabric requirements, as it depends on the style of quilt you wish to make. I would suggest that one of your quilts be made with fabric that you would like to use up in your stash (not your favorite). This could end up being used as the backing for your quilt.

The other quilt top could be made using “nicer” fabrics. This quilt would become the top of your charity quilt.
