 Crescent Quilters meeting minutes

Before the meeting commenced, (6:30pm-7pm) members signed in, and had a social chat time.

The meeting was chaired by our President Susan. Susan introduced our new member Linda Carswell￾Bland. Linda spoke a little to introduce herself to the group. She moved here from Victoria to be close to 

family. She is happy to be here and enjoying White Rock. She is an experienced quilter.

Carole introduced her sister Lynne visiting from Alberta. 

Susan encouraged people to think about volunteering to be on the executive committee next year. Let 

Susan or any of the executive members know if you are willing and able to take over a position, to make 

for a smooth transition next fall.

A survey will be sent out soon to find out if people are enjoying the ‘teams’ approach to programming.

Please read the poll and participate in it. There will be a deadline set to vote on the poll. Please respond 

before the deadline. 

Please email Susan if you need a copy of the Guidelines. She will email them to you upon request.

Marette gave an update for upcoming programs –The team for March have planned a mystery evening. 

Come for a surprise. At the March meeting, you will need to do some reading. If you need reading 

glasses, please bring them. The team for April is working on getting a speaker.

Show ‘n’ Tell:

Elaine- Showed a Valentine quilt top.

Cherie- Showed a photo of a raffle quilt for the Langley quilt guild. She is selling tickets for anyone 

interested.

Helen showed a couple of community quilts that she made. One was with triangles that someone gave 

her, and one was with butterfly fabric that someone gave her.

Gloria showed her Valentine Gnome that she made.

Carolyn showed a couple of small quilts for Bonnie who was not present. One was a blue wall hanging, 

and one was a colorful baby quilt.

Sarah showed a Lorna Moffat pillow she made after taking a class.

Faith showed a quilt that she just finished long arming for Carole N. It is going to her sister that was at 

our meeting as a guest. 

Susan made a fabric bowl while she was away on her trip. (The bowl we had the tutorial on last month

from Karen) She used art gallery fabric. She showed a picture of it on her phone as she gave it away as a 

gift.

Donna showed her completed mystery quilt.

Draws were made for door prizes and Sharzees.

The speaker of the evening was Lorna Moffat. She did a fabulous slide show presentation and brought 

many items of hers to show us. Many items of hers were also for sale.
