Executive reports:
Treasurer: Susan brought updated membership cards.
Susan reviewed the process for
selecting an insurance carrier. There was discussion concerning the common
requirement for $5M coverage. CQA provides $3M. Additional cost for extra
Personal coverage while at
Brookswood was also discussed. It was suggested that coverage was
implied through the Brookswood membership itself.
A question was asked about
coverage for our presenters.
It was
decided to go ahead with CQA insurance ($712). Passed by show of hands.
Brookswood: Monika reminded us
that Brookswood memberships must be renewed before January 1. Payment should be
made to Crescent Quilters by cheque or, preferably, by direct deposit. Monika
will make one group payment to Brookswood when the fees have been collected. Membership is still $30 annually.
Membership: Linda C-B introduced herself
and welcomed our new members.
Sunshine: Iris introduced herself
and her role. She also showed our new members the Crescent Quilters Quilt and
invited all those new, and new-ish, members who have not contributed a block
yet to make an 11” block to add to the quilt.
Confidentiality forms: Karen distributed the remaining
confidentiality preference forms.
Sign up sheets: Karen D reminded us about the various
sign-up sheets for snacks, the Christmas party, show and tell.
Fundraising: Karen distributed the brochures for our Purdy’s
fundraiser. Orders must be in by November 24. Pickup: December 9.
Projects: Canuck Place has requested bibs for the children.
These are usually made of terry towelling with
Velcro closures, but they will also accept ones more like the shirt protectors
we make for Brella.

“The

will bring lots of the material we use for the liners. We will make as many as

those.
