 Crescent Quilters’ Meeting Minutes – April 20,2026

President Karen D. welcomed Carol P. back to the group and welcomed guests for the evening.

Meeting:

1.Members were asked to sign up if planning to attend so that numbers may be calculated for food.  Hamburgers, chips, salad, dessert are provided.  It’s BYOB.  It will be held at Brella on June 15^th. The executive is looking for volunteers to help set up, prepare food, and clean up. You may sign up at the May meeting if you have not already done so.

2.  Garage Sale is postponed until the September meeting as Linda C-B is unable to attend the June 15^th meeting.  This gives members more time to get their items ready for sale!!!.

3. Congratulations to Linda C-B for her quilt “Periodic Table of Elements” being accepted into the National Juried Show.

4.  The Surrey Hospital Foundation is needing 20 quilts in sizes 16” by 16” and or/20” by 20”.  Donna Mercer to contact   the Piece Arch Quilters who presently donate quilts that are 36” by 36” to coordinate a joint effort.

5.  Langley Guild Quilt Show; May 8^th and 9^th – Entry fee is $10.  It will be held at the Christian Life Assembly – 21277- 56^th Avenue, Langley,   For further info, check out our Facebook page

6.  Sharon gave further info  about the beanie bags being requested .  The draw for contributors will be at the May meeting.

7.  Carey spoke about the May meeting.  Her group is presenting that evening.

Members are requested to bring a couple of needles with a large eye for embroidery thread.

8. Marette thanked Jean H. for her continual efforts to take pictures of  Show and Share and to post on line.

Program Director and President for 2026-2027 are needed.  Please see the attached info regarding these posts.

Executive Reports:

Brookswood Days ; Tuesday and Wednesday- April 28n and 29^th from 9 to 4.  Fee is $5.50 per day.  Fifteen spots available as of this printing.  Email Monika Mohr if interested.

Community Quilts – see Donna  for batting and labels.

Treasurer – Susan spoke about the online registration or cash/cheque payment by the May meeting.

Program

Cindy’s Threadworks – a Canadian owned company , presented information regarding threads, history of, weights of threads, uses plus different types of thread including glitter, metallic, MonoPoly thread.  At the end of her presentation, she had threads to sell and some fabrics.  

Next Meeting Is May 11^th – 2^nd Monday of the month.  Cherie McKechnie will take the minutes for Linda C-B who is unable to attend. Meeting closed at
