October 2018

Our next meeeting will be October 15th at "Come Share" Seniors Center

The meeting starts at 7pm, but try to arrive early to visit with others, and help set up the room. The doors will open at 6:30pm. Note- for this meeting we will need more tables than usual set up for our guest to put her quilts on during her trunk show. If you are able to help set up tables/chairs it would be greatly appreciated.

Our Guest Speaker this month:
Gail Sheppard - Trunk show. She is a scrappy quilter who makes Bonnie Hunter style quilts.
Here is the link to her blog: https://quiltinggail.wordpress.com/
What to bring:
-Anything you have for Sew, Show 'n' Tell. (If you have ever made a Bonnie Hunter style scrappy quilt, bring it along for Show 'n' Tell, even if you have shown it before in the past.)
-Wear your name tag.
-Bring your own beverage if desired.
-Bring a list of your UFO's to give to Donna, if you will be participating in the UFO challenge this year. (Or submit by email.)
-Bring your phone (if you have one) with a photo you have taken, of something you have found beautiful in nature. Take a walk this week and notice the beauty around you. Could this inpire you for a quilt? Think about the colors of the season, and how they are gorgeously combined in nature. Look at shapes of leaves, or branches on trees. Could they be an inspiration for quilting designs or applique? Look at the color of the sky, mountains, water. Could they be an inspriation for an art wall hanging quilt? During our mixer, you will be given a list of items that might be in people's pictures they have taken. It will be your job to go around the room, seeing how many items you can find from the list. Fall is a beautiful time of year! This excercise in meant to help you appreciate the beauty of the season, while getting a lit bit of excercise! (If you don't have a phone, you can still go around the room seeing what you can find from the list.)

Note: Debbie will be away this month, so we will not be having door prizes. We will have double the door prizes in November.
Helen will also be away this month. Mary Jo will be handling the Sharzees' draw at our meeting.

People that will be bringing food to our meeting this month:
