Our guest will be: Barb Cherniwchan
Barb is a former quilt shop owner in Yarrow, Abbostford and Chilliwack. She sold her shops in 2008. She is an experienced quilt pattern designer. She started her pattern designing career by designing patterns for fabric designer Kathy Schmitz of Moda Fabrics, and now Coach house designs. From there her designing career expanded. She has now worked with over 30 fabric designers from Moda fabrics. She has also worked with designers from Maywood Studio, Clothworks, Hoffman Fabrics, Benartex and most recently, Free Spirit Fabrics. Her quilts have appeared in the American Patchwork & Quilting calendar, Quiltmaker, For the Love of Quilting, and several editions of Quiltmania magazines. Most recently, she has designed an app called FabSwitch which allows you to switch out the fabric in her patterns to your favourate fabrics. You can see an image of how it will look, and also get the new fabric requirements for your desired colorway.. Barb’s trunk show will include old favourites, best sellers and her newest designs. At our next Crescent Quilters' meeting she will be selling the patterns at $2 below retail except for the "Best Time Ever" which is a fundraiser for the Red Cross. She will accept tap credit cards and debit cards or cash at the meeting if you wish to purchase her patterns.
