About E Transfers

We now have the option of renewing our Crescent Quilters' membership for next year by E-Transfer. If you are not familiar with making E transfers, this may help you. Here are some common questions people have.

How Safe Is E transfer?Interac e-Transfer users are protected by multiple layers of security, making the service on of the most secure ways to transfer money. Your bank or credit union's security measures include encryption technology, confidential user IDs and passwords.
How do you send money with E transfer?
You and the recipient each need your own account wiht a participating bank or credit union. You and the recipient also need an active email address or mobile phone number.
How to send money: Log into your online or mobile banking. Look for an area that says something like transfer, or move money, or e transfer. Once you find part of your online or mobile banking page follow the directions that it gives you.
-Select which account you want it to come out of
-When prompted add the recipient's name, and email address (Bea's name and email address for Crescent Quilters' membership renewal)
-Enter the amount of money you which to transfer -$ 40 for membership renewal.
Bea has already registered for Autodeposit so you probably will not be asked to give a security question. If for some reason you are asked for a security question please put "What was our latest quilting challenge?" For the answer put "Ninepatch" all as one word.

How much will it cost to do an E Transfer? Many banks do not charge for E Transfers. Some banks charge 50 cents.
How long does it take for the recipient to recieve the E Transfer? Usually the transfer will take place within 30 minutes. The recipient will recieve notification within 30 minutes that they have recieved an E Transfer. The recipient then needs to accept the transfer within 30 days for the transfer to go through.
The money will show that it has been moved out of your account as soon as you send a transfer. The money will not show in the recipient's account until they accept the transaction. If for some reason the person sending the money wants to cancel, they may do so any time before the recipient has accepted the transaction.
Bea will be mailing out reciepts after she receives payment.
